Renovation and New Façade
St. Mary’s of Assumption Catholic Church
Baldwinsville, NY
The organ at St. Mary’s in Baldwinsville, built by Casavant Frères as their opus 2816 in 1964, is a remarkable instrument with a simple yet highly effective stoplist and exceptional voicing. In our restoration, we preserved its original tonal design and character, focusing solely on modernizing its technical components while keeping the organ’s unique qualities intact. Our work included:
Comprehensive cleaning of the console and all electrical components
Refurbishment of the manual keyboards, pedalboard, console shell, and music stand
Installation of the Virtuoso pipe organ control system
Replacement of stop tablets, thumb pistons, toe pistons, and other necessary controls
Cleaning of the flue pipework and renovation of the windchest top surfaces
Interior cleaning and repairs of the windchests
Repair of the swell motor
The project was crowned with the design and construction of a new tower-style façade. We reconfigured the existing pipes in a completely new arrangement, stripping them to bare metal and finishing them with a fresh, decorative paint pattern.
